If you prepare or upload your video to your website or client's
websites -- you know that when it comes to compressing your files you
have to get the aspect ratio (or dimensions) of the video correct.
I recently found this cool, free online tool called the Aspect Ratio Calculator for digital video helps you make these calculations. You can choose between 16 x 9 and 4 x 3 formats. Then all you have to do is enter one of your dimensions and it calculates the other dimension for you. You can either use the on-line version or free down-loadable version.
Some software allows you to 'constrain' your aspect ratio (like on the embed section of YouTube), keeping the proper ratio for whatever you choose for one of the sizes but this is a great little trick (tool) for the times when you don't have the constrain option.
